Tourist Information of Tours Machu Picchu Peru
We see the sunrise over Machu Picchu tours then down to walk the Inca city. We know this city recreation of the Inca Pachacutec and panaka (royal family). Machu Picchu was discovered scientifically in 1911 by the American explorer and archaeologist Hiram Bingham, with the support of Yale University. Part of our tour includes climbing huaynapicchu, a peak also full of Inca ruins, from which we get an impressive view of the archaeological site and the high jungle valley (Tours Peru Machupicchu).
Additional activities in Machu Picchu tours have bird watching, searching for orchids, trekking Machu Picchu Inca ruins in nature or a comforting aromatherapy session. In the afternoon we board the train that will take us to the magical city of Cusco (Tours Peru Machupicchu).
Machupicchu Old inca:
great conqueror and builder, Pachacuti Inca, probably built the city in the 15th century. The Incas were native South American people and they ruled a big empire on the west coast of South America machu. The Incas abandoned Machu Picchu some time in the 16th century. Hiram Bingham, an American explorer, rediscovered the Lost City of Machu Picchu in 1911 (Tours Peru Machupicchu).
Where is Machu Picchu?
Machu Picchu is very high up in the Andes Mountains in Peru. It is about 80 kilometres northwest of Cuzco. It is 2,134 metres above sea level between two big mountains. The Urubamba river lies at the bottom of the valley between the two mountains. Machu Picchu covers an area of about 13 square kilometres (Tours Peru Machupicchu).
Who discovered Machu Picchu?
Hiram Bingham discovered Machu Picchu in 1911. He was a teacher at the University of Yale in the USA. When he arrived at Machu Picchu, there was jungle everywhere. He worked very hard to uncover the city inca Machu Picchu. People were amazed by the size and magnificence of the Lost City of the Incas Machu Picchu (Tours Peru Machupicchu).
What does Machu Picchu look like?
The Incas built the city on terraces and there were hundreds of stairs and paths connecting the terraces in Machu Picchu. The paths also connected open spaces called plazas, houses and a cemetery in Machu Picchu (Tours Peru Machupicchu).
The Incas built their houses from big pieces of stone in Machu Picchu. The stone is called granite. The large pieces of stone fit tightly together the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. Most of the stone houses have one room. Machu Picchu is a terraced city (Tours Peru Machupicchu).
Statements about Machu Picchu
At about the time Christopher Columbus landed on a tiny island in the Caribbean Sea, Huayna Capac, a powerful emperor and warrior, was battling to expand his empire thousands of miles to the south, in what is now Ecuador and Colombia. He and his father and grandfather had fought to create an empire that at its peak extended over a vast area along the rugged Andes Mountains of South America machu. Probably the largest nation in the world at that time, the Inca Empire was suddenly conquered by a small band of Spanish soldiers in 1532 (Tours Peru Machupicchu).
The Inca people originated in the Cuzco Valley of what is modern-day Peru in about AD 1000, and gradually conquered neighboring tribes. The empire expanded rapidly under three Inca emperors between 1438 and 1527 until at its height it stretched from what is now the border between Colombia and Ecuador to central Chile—a distance of over 3,400 miles. At its height, the Inca people, who numbered only about 100,000, ruled from 10 to 12 million people from at least 86 ethnic groups with their own languages, traditions and religious beliefs (Tours Peru Machupicchu).
The empire inca encompassed wildly contrasting geographic regions, ranging from towering snowcapped mountains to coastal deserts to Amazonian jungles. The heart of the empire, centered around Cuzco, was located at such a high elevation that people unaccustomed to high altitudes suffered from altitude sickness, which includes headaches, fatigue, dizziness and upset stomach. The empire inca was often plagued with a variety of natural disasters, including earthquakes, volcanoes, droughts and devastating floods (Tours Peru Machupicchu).
The Inca Empire was one of the most highly developed civilizations of its time. Unlike the Roman Empire, it was at its peak when it was conquered by outsiders, with superior weapons and the horse, which gave them an advantage on the battlefield. European diseases introduced by the Spanish decimated the Inca people even before the invaders arrived on their shores (Tours Peru Machupicchu).
The Inca culture is of interest to scholars because its leaders developed a highly organized state that ruled over millions of people living in a vast territory without the aid of money, writing or the wheel. By building on indigenous institutions, such as the ayllu, mita labor, the quipu and the vertical economy, Inca rulers controlled a vast empire and managed to provide basic shelter and food for millions of people in an environment of harsh extremes (Tours Peru Machupicchu).
