Tourist Information of Tours Machu Picchu Peru

“Marvel at visiting the navel of the world, the citadel of Machu Picchu and its extraordinary Inca trails and in addition to Machu Picchu, Cusco has other wonders. For starters, a fantastic city, rich cultural manifestations, and other extraordinary archaeological complexes scattered in an admirable geography of Peru “

ANTONIO RAIMONDI, HIS TRAVEL NOTEBOOKS TO PERU AND CUSCO:

The trips were the methodological resource through which Antonio Raimondi updated, hand in hand with science, the inventory of natural resources of Peru. His records were based both on the observation of natural phenomena and manifestations, and on the support of the precision instruments of the Peru-time. The confluence of rigorous descriptions, instrument readings, chemical analyzes and compositions, statistical and trigonometric calculations, among others, validate the scientific paradigm that guided his actions: precision in his travels (Tours Peru Machupicchu). </ P >

The fundamental testimony of his scientific work is his travel notebooks. True logs of his itineraries are an impressive compendium, whose data and observations summarize the circumstances and incidents of epic scientific explorations of his travels. They are testimony to the registration protocol that he used for precise control of routes and discoveries. They are divided into those dedicated to recording his travels and themes; the latter document specific manifestations in fields such as archeology, botany, ethnology, geology, mineralogy and zoology – (Tours Peru Machupicchu).

During his itineraries, Raimondi used both types of travel notebooks simultaneously, making notes on separate sheets during the day, and transcribing them to these notebooks at night. During his nineteen years of travels throughout Peru (1851-1869), Raimondi accumulated one hundred and ninety-five travel notebooks on the natural history of Peru. It was the most ambitious, systematic and lengthy scientific survey ever carried out in 19th century Peru. During this period, he traveled the equivalent of forty-five thousand kilometers through the national territory – (Tours Peru Machupicchu), an experience that made him the first scientist to compose a complete vision of Peru, of the potentialities of its natural and cultural resources, as well as the reserve that they meant as a guarantee for the development of the country (Tours Peru Machupicchu).

Raimondi toured the Cusco region twice in his travels: 1858 and 1865. He explored the Vilcabamba, Apurímac and Vilcanota-Urubamba basins, waded through its mighty rivers, penetrated the jungles of Echarate (Coribeni), Paucartambo (Cosñipata) and Marcapata (Camanti), he crossed the snowy hills at the foot of Salcantay and Ausangate, as well as recorded Inca monuments such as Ollantaytambo, Pisac, Choquequirao trek, among others in his travels. In all of them he gave an account of the most important manifestations of nature and the inhabitants of these beautiful regions, leaving for posterity the valuable scientific data of his work (Tours Peru Machupicchu).
