The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu Trekking

The Inca trail to Machu Picchu in Cusco is a very old one that runs from the time of the Inca empire. It connects Ollantaytambo and Machu Picchu in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Along its route you can appreciate an exuberant geographical beauty, diverse ecological floors and rich flora and fauna of the sanctuary.

“The Inca Trail” is the name with which it is commonly known the section of kilometer 88 of the railway line to the citadel of Machu Picchu. It travels 11 kilometers of mountains and the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

You can travel by this impressive “Inca Trail” by bus that crosses the Vilcanota Valley. However, it is not the only route for Machu Picchu, there are other longer routes whose route takes one or more days of trekking to Machu Picchu and that involves walking around the valley, Andean roads and picturesque landscapes of the area.
