The Qanchi were defeated and fled to Waqrapukara, which was besieged for 15 days.<\/p>\n<p><strong> \u00a0Waqrapukara Fortress<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.toursperumachupicchu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/IMG_0530.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-76750 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.toursperumachupicchu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/IMG_0530-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Waqrapukara\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>T&#8217;ito Qos\u00f1ipa was forced to capitulate, but in exchange for swearing loyalty to the Inca, he and his warriors were saved from execution. As punishment for the Qanchi&#8217;s defiance, the Inca selected 100 Qanchi warriors and cut off one of their ears to mark them as &#8220;lemaqanchis.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Waqrapukara has been described as a residence of the Inca nobility, but also a center of astronomical observation, and at the same time a religious center attributed to the sun, the moon and Viracocha, the great creative deity in pre-Inca and Inca mythology. .<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.toursperumachupicchu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/wacra.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-76752 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.toursperumachupicchu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/wacra-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"269\" height=\"404\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Waqrapukara consists of a citadel in the middle of a rocky spur, where there are two groups of enclosures that are separated by a large central space.
